While maintaining the robust Steel construction and coil sprung suspension within the frame, Link differs from its full suspension siblings through its square geometry, almost resembling a crossbar, hardtail frame. The suspension mechanism itself operates through a hinged swingarm, thus not relying on clearance between the seat post and swing arm... Regardless of saddle height, you have full travel! As for gearing, a Shimano Tourney 18-speed system with Revoshift twist-grip shifters serves the purpose nicely and broadens the bike, and indeed the riders, capability when it comes to terrain and ascents. Combo brakes! The Link, unlike all others in the Basis range, boasts a responsive mechanical disc brake up front, supported by a simplistic V-Brake at the rear.
